Hot Topic: Lots of Sex & Then Suddenly, No Sex! What Do You Do?

In light of all the media hoopla about sex scandals, I’ve been reading a lot about restitution and forgiveness and some words that have been thrown around recently. I read that if you’re a “sinner” – (please note that I use that word as loosely #NoPunIntended as possible :p) you are supposed to confess, ask for forgiveness and then make amends.

Now, seeing as I’ve read on social media that sexual related offences are the most vile set of transgression on this side of the world, I think we should talk about it. I mean, I keep reading about our high moral standards and how goodness gracious we really ought not be having sex. We can loot the government, we can watch children being raped, we can victimize our house helps but God forbid that you have sex… You are bankrupting our huge moral standards vault. Having said that, I was wondering how people just suddenly decide they’re done with that life, and they want to make a change – in the spirit of restitution and change. I’ll give my point some perspective.

Let’s assume Obinna has no qualms about having sex with girls. He has been like this since University days. Your average Bang’ Em and Bag ‘Em kinda guy. He enjoys sex and makes absolutely no apologies for it. Please note that he hasn’t said that he is a worshipper of any God, he doesn’t claim to be an adherent of any religion. He’s just a dude who enjoys having sex. Now, this guy decides to slow down. Of his own volition. No urging by any Brother or Sister. He just says “You know what, I’m tired. I need to slow down on my Schlong Mileage.

Shortly after this his note to self, he meets pretty Arinola. She says well, she used to have pre-marital sex before but she says she likes Obi. She feels like Obi is the one and in order to make IT more meaningful, they should wait till marriage.

Obi, who had hitherto made a personal note to slow down agrees to this. They don’t kiss long and hard, they don’t stay alone for long enough for the fire to start burning them. They’re successful for like 3 months and then one day in her car outside, they reach 3rd Base (Y’all know 3rd base right?). Obi is at this time horny as hell. He blurts out “But babe, you’re not a virgin. Let’s just do it”.

So guys, how do you transition from the place of an active sex life to a life of celibacy? Do you think that it really doesn’t matter? I mean, you’ve done it, you’ve enjoyed it… why stop a ‘good’ thing? Have you ever tried to transition? Were you successful? Please share your thoughts.
